Transitions & Changes in 2010
Hello my friends!
I hope you are all starting your new year with a positive outlook as we put the upheaval of 2009 behind us. Many people I know have had job changes that resulted in relocating, lifestyle modifications and of course, stress and the fallout that comes with these events. When talking to others, I try to impress upon them that EVERYONE EVERYWHERE is in transition. It's not just the people in the US who are experiencing change, but all of humanity. For that reason, it's more important than ever that we all work together to make life bearable and insure that we minimize the suffering of those we care about.
The hobby community has experienced tremendous growth as women join the ranks due to being displaced from the workforce while hobbyists' needs increase due to the added stress in their lives. There will always be a need for acceptance and intimacy in this world as those are basic items in our hierarchy of needs. My focus will continue to be on the needs of my clients demonstrated by the level of service provided at the reasonable rates listed. Yes, I'm aware that my reputation could command a higher price, but I love my clientele. Even if I kept my regulars at their rate and started charging more for newcomers, I wouldn't feel like I'm doing what I can to give back to the community. So, I'm staying right where I am and will run occasional specials to help where I can.

Again, I hope everyone gains a new perspective in 2010 as the need for goodwill increases. We can't afford to be self-absorbed in this day and age. That doesn't mean we should leave ourselves open to cons or users, either. There just needs to be an understanding that tolerance and a willingness to show consideration for others will bring about a more positive energy to all of our lives.
